LCA-analysis recommends Sunstrip

The Swiss company Ernst Schweizer AG works with environmental management and develops methods for rational energy usage, energy recovery and training in environmental energy. They also have their own production of solar collectors.

The company chose Sunstrip's products following an ecological assessment of various types of absorbers, as these were shown to have the least effect on the environment during manufacture. The result of the analysis led Ernst Schweizer AG, one of the three largest actors on the Swiss market, to sign a contract with Sunstrip to supply complete absorbers.

The analysis showed that the environmental load of an absorber consisting of both aluminium and copper was less than a product made completely of copper. Environmental pollution arising from the manufacturing process of aluminium/copper absorbers is less than that arising from the production of purely copper absorbers.

In addition, Sunstrip's aluminium and copper absorbers are of minimal mass, which is required of an ecologically optimised solar collector.
